Mitski

Dive into the depths of your soul and discover catharsis through Mitski’s forthcoming live performance on Friday, September 13th, at the Texas Trust CU Theatre, with special guest Arlo Parks. In response to rising demand, the Libera Award winner’s 2024 tour has been extended to include fall dates, now spanning over fifty cities across North America. This string of shows will be in promotion of her latest album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, which claimed the Top 2 in Billboard’s Independent, Alternative, and Rock music charts. Poetically surreal and emotionally candid — the 11-track record will comprise the concert’s core setlist with viral songs such as "Bug Like an Angel" and our headliner’s first Hot 100 hit "My Love Mine All Mine." In addition, Mitski will break out a few crowd-pleasers from earlier releases, such as "Nobody" and "The Only Heartbreaker," tunefully elevated by our venue’s immersive indoor acoustics. Bare your heart, mind, and soul, and let the cascading volatility of emotion wash you away in an evening of musical melodrama. Indie rock artist Mitski Miyawaki has announced a lengthy extension to her North American engagement this 2024, now spanning three-quarters of the touring calendar with over 50 shows set. An usher to the fall season, these additional dates will include a September 13th appearance at the Texas Trust CU Theatre featuring special guest Arlo Parks.

“The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We” Tour is in support of the titular full-length LP, which was released last September to universal acclaim. It rose to #12 in the Billboard 200 while also claiming #2 spots in the Top Alternative, Rock, and Independent charts. Hailed by Pitchfork as “some of the most surreal, existential, and fascinating songs” in Mitski’s catalog, the album’s eleven tracks will captivate the concert crowd with its poetic aphorisms, emotional prescience, and raw spiritual candor. Sing, feel, and weep into the night.

“Mitski's new album is a mesmerizing journey through the depths of emotion and self-discovery. With her signature blend of vulnerability and raw talent, she delivers a captivating collection of songs that showcase her evolution as an artist.”

Fans are also anticipating a number of evocative live performances of Mitski’s earlier work. Unfailingly catchy and candid, our headliner’s songs are lyrically driven vehicles of angst, heartache, and anger that have allowed listeners a place to air out their own grievances. Experience a select offering of the singer’s most beloved hits, from the Libera Award-winning “Nobody” to the Billboard Triple A #1 hit "The Only Heartbreaker," with potential deep cut inclusions in the likes of "First Love / Late Spring" and "Working for the Knife."

GRAMMY Award-nominated indie artist Arlo Parks will be the show's special guest, enticing audiences with her exquisite fusions of soul and bedroom pop melodies. She’ll be playing hit singles from her Mercury Prize-winning Collapsed in Sunbeams debut album, such as "Black Dog" and “Caroline,” and perhaps a few teasers from My Soft Machine, her latest one.

The City of Grand Prairie welcomes Mitski’s forthcoming performance at the premier Texas Trust CU Theatre on Friday, September 13th.
