The Price Is Right LIVE! is a staged show production that is based on a television game show of the same name. The original show debuted on CBS back in the early seventies, with Bob Barker serving as the presenter until his retirement three decades later, at which point Drew Carey took over. Over the years, the program has aired more than 9,000 episodes, making it the longest-running game show in the nation that was inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
During the physical event, some venues employ audience response keypads to ask a series of pricing questions prior to every show, while other venues have participants play a pricing game as they register before the event.
Only selected pricing games from the television program have been adapted for the live show. These games include Plinko, It’s in the Bag, One Wrong Price, Hole in One, Clock Game, Cliff Hangers, Any Number, Race Game, and Punch-a-Bunch.
