In 2004, Lamb of God and Mastodon dropped their groundbreaking studio albums, Ashes of the Wake and Leviathan. Lamb of God, a mighty purveyor of the new wave of American heavy metal, was on the verge of fantastic stardom. Ashes of the Wake, Lamb of God’s major label debut, spawned iconic hits “Laid to Rest” and “Now You’ve Got Something to Die For.” Moreover, the album also broke into Billboard 200’s Top 30. This 2024 Lamb of God is set to perform in its entirety, so expect a plethora of classic fan favorites, such as “Hourglass,” “Omerta,” “Break You,” and more. Ashes of the Wake is one of Lamb of God’s most highly rated albums, and they’re best-selling records to date.
The same year, Grammy Award-winning progressive sludge metal band Mastodon dropped their sophomore album, Leviathan. The album became their phenomenal breakthrough into the Billboard 200 chart, US Heatseekers, and Top Independent Albums. The album also featured numerous iconic hits, including “Iron Tusk,” “Naked Burn,” and “Blood and Thunder.” Aside from receiving countless rave reviews, Leviathan also won Best Alternative Metal Albums at the Metal Storm Awards. Furthermore, the album was also recorded as one of the greatest and most important progressive metal albums of all time. Fast forward to 20 years later, Mastodon will be performing the album in its entirety. That means the band’s setlist will include the anthemic staples “Blood and Thunder,” “Seabeast,” and Iron Tusk.”
