About the Performers

S.O.S. Band - The American R&B and electro-funk group, whose name stands for "Sounds of Success", is led today by Mary Davis and Abdul Ra'oof. They boast a rich history of hits, like their certified-platinum debut single "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" back in '80, and their run of hits produced alongside Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, including ""Just Be Good to Me", "The Finest", and "Tell Me If You Still Care".
Ohio Players - A legendary American funk band whose history dates back to the '70s, the "Funk Worm", "Love Rollercoaster", and "Skin Tight" hitmakers are hailed as "the pioneers of street funk and underground R&B." With more than a dozen albums and certified gold & platinum records up their sleeves, their music has become legendary pieces, with even the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dr. Dre, Salt-N-Pepa, Beyonce, and more covering and sampling their tracks.
Bar Kays - This American funk band was formed in 1964, putting out tons of hit singles from the '60s down to the '80s. Their best tracks include "Soul Finger", "Boogie Body Land", and "Son of Shaft". With memorable anthems and decades of unique grooves, the band has seen many revivals and reiterations, each holding on to the legacy that Bar Kays has built.
ConFunkShun - Formerly known as Project Soul, this R&B and funk band was formed in 1969. Also packing a catalog of legendary hits, this is the band behind "Chase Me", "Shale and Dance with Me", "Ffun", "Too Tight", "Electric Lady", and more. Today, three of its original members, Michael Cooper, Felton Pilate and Karl Fuller are keeping the legacy alive through tours that take fans back to their glory days.=
