Texas Trust CU Theatre at Grand Prairie
The emotional roller coaster that's coming to Grand Prairie, Texas, is one that you're not going to want to miss. La La Land In Concert comes to the Texas Trust CU Theatre on Saturday, April 18th. This musical/cinematic experience has become a favorite of local orchestras over the years. What they do is have a full ensemble taking the stage to play some of the songs from epic pictures while the movie screens in a massive format. Saying that you've never seen La La Land like this before is quite the understatement.
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are going to be a part of your experience, that's why they're gracing the poster. Not to offer any spoilers, but just know that if you think you're in for a romantic evening, then what you're actually in for is a rude awakening. No disrespect to the incredible performers from the orchestra who are going to be taking the stage, but usually, the first wow moment is seeing Ryan Gosling appear on screen! With some of the other movies that get this symphonic treatment, the spot that takes your breath away is watching a beautiful scenery as the orchestra plays the film's iconic tracks. With La La Land, the wow moment comes with Ryan Gosling's pretty face on a large scale. Again, very sorry about the spoilers, but this wide format helps give some of the toughest moments in the movie an even deeper meaning. They might cut much deeper than you remember.
Naturally, what takes the entire experience over the top is the full orchestra that will be playing all of the songs from the movie. When they hit those jazz notes, you're going to realize that this is not your average live film experience. There might be a point where you'll want to get up from your seat to dance as well. That's another element that makes this La La Land live show much different than similar performances based on other movies. The type of music helps the band craft an ambiance that's going to make you feel like you're actually in those dance halls with the characters in the film.
The best seats in the house for an event like this are the ones that allow you to have an elevated view of everything that's taking place. Usually, they don't even open the front rows for these types of performances. That's actually for the best because you want to be in a seat that's going to allow you to catch a glimpse of the performers and the movie within your regular sightline. Try to stick to the middle of the theater as well.
