Texas Trust CU Theatre at Grand Prairie
Felipe Esparza comes to the Texas Trust CU Theatre on Friday, April 24th. This show is part of his "At My Leisure" Tour. Comedy fans who have been following Felipe know that he's doing something that many of today's most popular acts forgo doing. That is bringing a completely new set every single year. A lot of the big names these days will ride out a tour until the wheels fall off because they feel very confident in that no phones policy. Felipe, though, is putting out new content and just giving fans what they want.
The Texas Trust CU Theatre will likely be filled with a mostly Mexican-American crowd who loves to support their own. There's some good news, and that is the fact that tickets for this event are starting at $59. That's a steal for any show at this venue. Getting anything under $100 is not common anymore. If Jo-Jo Jorge Falcon and George Lopez had a son, that would be Felipe Esperza! Just don't tell Felipe that, because he might have beef with George Lopez. If that's not the case, sorry for spreading false rumors, but it just seems that every single Latino in comedy has a beef with George. In any case, this At My Leasiure tour is shaping up to be one of the sneaky great nights of comedy that's coming to the Texas Trust CU Theatre. Although Felipe Esparza has been on all of the great comedy networks at this point, and he hits the road every year, for some reason, he's still kind of underrated. That's actually a good thing, though, if you're a fan, because you're not going to see a comedy show at this venue with tickets at this low rate!
Felipe Esparza isn't just going to be up there telling jokes about growing up Mexican-American and calling it a day. He brings an upbeat set, complete with faces and all sorts of gimmicks, to get you laughing out loud. The faces are actually that Jo-Jo Jorge side of his comedy that we've mentioned. He could fool some people, but when you see him on stage pulling those curls back to make a face, you'll know exactly where he got that bit from! That's not a knock, actually, he's one of the few Latino comedians who's not afraid to pull more Spanish bits and put them into the show.
The seating layout at the Texas Trust CU Theatre gives you plenty of great options to choose from. That's especially the case when you're going to a comedy show like this. You don't need to be too close to the stage, although you'll want to be close enough to make sure you don't miss the faces and gestures that are great add-ons to Felipe Esparza's comedy. There are plenty of spots in those front rows of the different levels that make up this venue that can offer added leg room with great overall visibility at an awesome price tag.
