April Fools Comedy Jam IX: 3 The Hard Way

The annual stand-up comedy series is timed to coincide with the funniest day of the year. The shows have evolved from early-April events into year-round tours, expanding its reach across the U.S. They are frequently hosted by MTV comedian Rip Michaels and feature a mix of established stars like Nick Cannon, HaHa Davis, B. Simone, Tony Roberts, Bruce Bruce, and Jacob Williams. Plus an array of rising talents.

The 2026 show at Texas Trust CU Theatre on Saturday, April 4th, will feature DeRay Davis, Eddie Griffin, and Corey Holcomb, with special guests Dominique Witten and Henry Coleman opening the show.

DeRay Davis

Coming out of Chicago's South Side, Antoine DeRay Davis got his perfect break in the role as Ray "The Hustle Guy" in the 2002 film Barbershop and its 2004 sequel Barbershop 2: Back in Business. He has also acted in 21 Jump Street, voiced characters on the animated series The Boondocks, and starred as Jermel, Cookie Lyon's hitman cousin, in Seasons 1 and 2 of Empire. His first Netflix special, DeRay Davis: How to Act Black, was so popular it reportedly crashed Netflix servers twice!

Eddie Griffin

From Kansas City, Missouri, Edward Rubin Griffin starred as Eddie Sherman in the 90s sitcom Malcolm & Eddie, earning a NAACP Image Award along with co-star Malcolm-Jamal Warner. He had his big screen debut with The Last Boy Scout alongside Bruce Willis. He played the flamboyant pimp, T.J. Hicks, in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and its sequel, European Gigolo. Was the voice of Richard Pryor in the animated series and film, Black Dynamite. His standout comedy specials include Dysfunktional Family, featuring Snoop Dogg, and You Can Tell 'Em I Said It. And finally, he once crashed a Ferrari Enzo worth $1.5 million during the charity race practice for Redline.

Corey Holcomb

From the infamous Robert Taylor Homes housing project in Chicago, Corey Lamont Holcomb, nicknamed "Ghetto Dr. Phil," has appeared on The Jerry Springer Show with DeRay Davis and voices Robert Tubbs on the Family Guy spin-off series, The Cleveland Show. His three specials include The Problem Is You, Comedy Central Presents: Corey Holcomb, and Your Way Ain't Working.

Special guest Dominique Witten

Coming out of the nation's capital and cutting her teeth as a postal worker doing all-nighters in the infamous Brentwood facility, Dominique Witten, the "people's champ," gained her breakout role on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, hosted by Russell Simmons. She was a finalist on Season 9 of Last Comic Standing, had a regular spot in Black Jesus, and voiced various characters in the satirical Tropical Cop Tales. Her debut stand-up special is Dominique Witten: Stop Me When I'm Lying!, and she has spots in Ask-A-Sista and Big Black Love.

Special guest Henry Coleman

From Memphis, Tennessee, Henry Coleman is known for his regular appearances in ComicView, Showtime at the Apollo, and Chocolate Sundaes Comedy Show in Los Angeles. He has headlined at FunnyVille Comedy Club in Victorville, CA, Twice As Funny Comedy Lounge in Killeen, TX, and performed at The Upstairs LA comedy club for Too Funny Tuesdays.
