The man brings his "Back 2 Basics Tour" for the DFW-NYE Takeover IX, hosted by entertainment icon, JJ Williamson. The annual tradition is known to share non-stop laughs every single time a new year comes shining through. Ring in the celebration with your family & friends as Owen shares his iconic deadpan recitations, hilarious stories, and outrageous surprises. Gary Owen is heading back to the Texas Trust CU Theatre for the annual DFW-NYE Takeover, marking the celebration's ninth run this year. All set to wrap up an amazingly crazy 2025, be sure to mark your spots and head out for Gary Owen's Back 2 Basics Tour coming to the NYE party. Hosted by the iconic J.J. Williamson, get ready to a big night of laughs, music, and all-out parties.
On stage, this year's DFW-NYE Takeover will see rising comic T. Robe, character work expert Adam Fynke, sharp wit and punchline master Rob Rodriguez, and the defenitely intense N-Tense The Band to deliver some hard-hitting bangers. As they join Gary Owen on stage, you can expect a wild night of all-out laughs, hype memories, and a New Year party like no other.
The world-renowned stand-up comedian's "Back 2 Basics Tour" will see Owen share big nights of pure laughs - stripped off the unnecessary antics that reflect his return to the raw & unfiltered comedy he's always been known for. Rather than distracting theatrics, he'll be sharing more stories, crowd work, and punchlines that'll have you rolling all-night long. If you've been a longtime follower of the funny man, you know his knack for holding a crowd. Turning every single performance into an amazing showcase of the best jokes, puns, and comedic antics you'll ever see.
Taking it to a NYE party, it's all set to be wilder than the rest. Named as the "Funniest Serviceman in America", Owen found his big break back in '97 when he was featured on "Comic View". He later on took roles in various films such as Daddy Day Care, College, and Little Man, and dropped a handful of comedy specials, including "Gary Owen: True Story", "I Agree with Myself", and "I Got My Associate's".
Though we're yet to see what'll exactly happen on this big night, you can definitely expect a night that'll run late into the new year, hilarious stand-up sets, musical breaks, and tons of laugh & cheer through midnight as fireworks come welcoming 2026.
