Texas Trust CU Theatre at Grand Prairie
Rene Vaca is part of the new wave of Latino comedians making their way up the ranks. This year, he's got an extensive tour with a stop here in the Metroplex at the Texas Trust CU Theatre on Saturday, November 15th. If you get a chance to look at his 2025 tour poster, you'll nod your head at most of the cities that appear on the list, then think to yourself, What in the world is Rene planning for the people of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Buffalo, New York? You know exactly why you'll think this, but we can't say it here!
In any case, what you need to worry about is getting your seats for this event at the Texas Trust CU Theatre. Rene's an up-and-coming comedian, but he's already built a solid fan base, so you might be surprised when you find there aren't too many spots left for his show. It's been quite a ride for Rene Vaca in these last few years. He's appeared on the Laugh Factory and most recently on Netflix. These days, that's pretty much the road map to mainstream comedy. He's got the likes of Ralph Barbosa in his corner, and he's been "accepted" into the fold of the Latin comedian stable. Latinos love to support their own, and it won't be any different when he sets foot inside the Texas Trust CU Theatre. Part of this support is the fact that his situational comedy is based a lot on the Latino culture and growing up in a Mexican household. It makes for hilarious bits.
One of the main running gags with Rene Vaca is the fact that he looks indian. There are actually two reasons why this is relevant. People who may have never seen him before might get the wrong idea of what the show's gonna be about when he walks out on stage. The other reason is to say that you're walking into a highly racial show! It's comedy, and the audience mainly takes it as such, but just a warning for anyone who might feel that's a touchy subject. If you know what you're getting yourself into, step right ahead, you're going to have a blast!

Rene Vaca is not afraid to clap back at some of the hecklers; it's all in the name of good fun.
