KEM's whole life has been a wild journey fueled by his love for music. It all began on the days when he was just a kid messing around on his granddad's church piano. It's inspiring how his childhood passion evolved into this deep, personal connection with music - and how that shaped his entire life.

Now, this R&B sensation has got some serious street cred – we're talking a Platinum album (KEM: ALBUM II), two Gold ones (KEMISTRY and INTIMACY), and three GRAMMY nominations. He also has five #1 hit singles – “Love Calls,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Why Would You Stay,” “It’s You,” and “Nobody.”

Despite being a big deal in the R&B scene, a lot of folks still don't know the full story of KEM. He hit rockbottom, from being homeless and battling addiction to sobriety. It's all woven into his music. With this, they call him “R&B’s Best Kept Secret.” KEM's journey to sobriety was like a rollercoaster. He hit rock bottom in '90, sleeping outside after getting kicked out of shelters. But that night by the Detroit River, he had this epiphany, like, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired." From then on, he handed the reins over to a higher power.

Even while battling his demons, KEM never stopped writing music. Fast forward to 2002 when he independently dropped his first CD, KEMISTRY, selling over 15,000 copies out of his car trunk. Motown Records took notice, signed him, and the rest is history. “Love Calls” from KEMISTRY hit #1, and he's been a household name ever since.

The guy's not just about music, though. In 2012, he founded Mack & Third, a non-profit helping out with everything from homelessness to education. And every year, he throws this massive concert and food drive in Detroit, giving back to the community in a big way.

He also has a Christmas album released in 2012 - it's a holiday staple now. And in 2014, PROMISE TO LOVE dropped, hitting #3 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. This album was a game-changer with two #1 hits, “It’s You” and “Nobody.”

Catch him live with his best hits when he arrives at Grand Prairie!
