R&B Vibes will present some of the most incredible performers from the genre. The show will be headlined by the distinguished Johnny Gill. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter made waves in the late ‘80s with his group called the New Edition. In the early ‘90s, Gill pursued a solo career and dropped his self-titled debut album in 1983. Gill finally had a breakthrough when he released his eponymous third album in 1990. The double platinum-selling album entered the Billboard 200 at number 8 and topped the R&B Albums chart. The album spawned three number 1 Hot R&B songs, “My, My, My,” “Rub You the Right Way,” and “Wrap My Body Tight.” Meanwhile, the third single off the album, “Fairweather Friend,” peaked at number 2 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. Over the years, Gill continued to release chart-performing albums earning him two gold albums along the way.

Singer Ralph Tresvant is also a New Edition alum. He served as the group's lead singer and performed alongside Johnny Gill during the late ‘80s. In 1983, Tresvant released his debut album with New Edition, Candy Girl. After the phenomenal success of New Edition, Tresvant pursued a solo career and dropped his self-titled debut album in 1990. The album topped the R&B Albums chart and peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200. Preceded by three colossal hits, “Sensitivity,” “Stone Cold Gentlemen,” and “Do What I Gotta Do,” the album sold more than one million copies in the U.S., earning Tresvant his first solo platinum certification.

R&B Vibes will also feature performances from neo-soul singer-songwriter Stokely and platinum-selling artist Carl Thomas. Tickets to experience R&B Vibes at the Texas Trust CH Theatre are now available!
