In 2018, Carin Leon became viral when a video of him performing “A Traves Del Vaso” in a local festival popped up on social media, amassing ten million views in its first week. According to Leon, the track was recorded sometime in 2017, but nothing happened until it was performed live at the festival. In the video, Leon was still performing with his band Grupo Arranke, where Leon spent four years as lead singer.
The same year before the video went viral, Leon embarked on a solo career and signed with Tamarindo Rekords. During an interview with Billboard, he credited his time with the band for his knowledge and experience. “Grupo Arranke was definitely a big school for me, and I learned a lot,” he said.

Born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, Leon has always had music as a big part of his life. Leon added in the interview that he grew up in a household where the music was on for 24 hours every day. “I don’t recall the exact moment that I began doing this as a profession, but I liked it, and I started to develop it as a job and make a living from it,” he admits,” he added.

In 2020, Leon was featured in Billboard’s Latin Artist on the Rise. His tracks “Me La Avente” and “Tu” have performed impressively on the Hit Latin Song, Regional Mexican Airplay, and Latin Airplay charts. Leon recently released a two-part live album titled Encerrados Pero Enfiestados, which means “locked up but partying.” Leon mentioned that he wanted to give listeners “a reason to smile, enjoy a few beers, and see the bright side of the pandemic.”
